It's a Gem !!! The lake facing state park cabins are just amazing.. every window of the cabin has view of lake.. there are only 5 lake side facing Cabins so I recommend early reservation. The quarry is hardly 100 steps from the Cabin, and has many picnic tables, park for kids..we didn't too much hiking/trailing so cannot comment on that.

Very fun place to go camping with the family has scenic view. Water is very dirty and brown so isnt the best place to swim. Things always floating in the water. But camping hiking it's not to bad. Just don't recommend swimming in it.

We had a great stay once we found our campsite, 2 hrs after we arrived at the state park office. And if a park ranger hadn't been in the area, we would never have found it. No maps at the state office, nothing whatsoever to help you get to your spot. Park ranger took care of us and we found our site. And it was a great spot to spend the weekend. Fantastic lake view

I planned a short weekend trip with my 2 sons, 13 & 9, just to get away from the city and relax. The available options at the time were a lake view cabin, or park view. We went with lake view, and it was a great little spot. The lake view cabins (1-4) are on quarry island, the park view are up by the office. Both offer a really nice and clean view of the area they are in. Plenty of outdoor cooking areas and tables, as well as trash receptacles. We were also going to be arriving after hours. The office has a lock box that they set the code so you can access it. Inside was not only the key and receipt, but a copy of the park map that directed us right to our cabin. very handy because it was dark when we arrived.nnBecause we came at the end of January, it was not busy at all. Upon arrival, the cabin was clean and ready to go. The fire ring out back was in good shape, the patio chairs provided were well-built, and the picnic table was more than sufficient. Inside was clean, with plenty of towels and extra linens. Having spent several years in the pest control industry, I always do a bed bug check at any place I stay. Happy to say there was nothing to worry about in that regard.nnSince we stayed during covid, there were no dishes or cooking utensils in the cabin. If you plan to cook, you will want to bring whatever pots/pans you need. This was stated prior to booking so we planned accordingly. The kitchen did have a stove top and oven, fridge/freezer, as well as a standard coffee pot and toaster. One regular and one decaf coffee pack was also provided. The TV was a fairly current flat screen, with standard hook ups in back. Local channels are available on that as well.nnIn between the island and other cabins is a splash pad and mini golf course, as well as a covered pavilion. There is also a small gas station/bait & tackle shop less than 5 minutes away. They also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Food was pretty good there, we had lunch and breakfast before we headed home.nnOverall it was a great stay, and we won't hesitate to visit again. Less than an hour from Robbers Cave, and 20 minutes from the Heavener runestone.
