Kaw Southwind Express

I live in Michigan but have occasion to be in the Kaw City area as often as I can. I was one of the owners of that old house across Hwy 11 from the Express store. The times I’ve visited the Express I’ve been very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the store. It’s a great place to stop.

Called in to ask if they had cheeseburgers, they said yes. Called in an order later in the day. My husband went to pick it up and they were out of hamburger meat, so no cheese burgers. He bought two slices of pizza that obviously had been sitting for several hours, I can't believe they actually sold something that dried out and crunchy. We won't be back.

The fresh food smells that hit you at the door were wonderful. Nice new clean facility. While the building has a lot of square footage, it's not being put to good use. The selection of camping and outdoor supplies was extremely limited, which was odd given that the facility serves a series of busy campgrounds. It wouldn't take much for this facility to better server it's customers.

Great food, friendly staff and competitive pricing. Ask for the macaroni bites.
