Red Bud Park

Very historic place. We read about the tragic story of what happened to the Marlow brothers in 1889 and came to see the monument and cave as well as park. So glad this history has been preserved but sad that the displays were in a state of deterioration. The building where the cave is, has not been kept up. Oklahoma is fortunate to have history preserved this much. Tragic and terrible thing to happen to innocent men, but their bravery should be honored. The Redbud Chapel and park are really neat. We only hope somehow finances will be available to restore the displays and to update the building with cave. We plan to come back and see the museum which we hear is in the Mercantile Building.

The creek is hard to see from the paths and a little over grown at the bridges. However, the place has beautiful scenery, many places to sit and read, or even a few spots for some yoga or exercising. With the play park and the water park neary by, its excellent. There are even public restrooms to boot. Also, I rarely see much trash at all!

Nice large park with bathrooms and a splash pad. Parking and areas are separated for larger kids and younger ones.
