SkipperBud's Oshkosh

Last week my family and I went to Oshkosh skipper buds looking for a used boat. We are told them our price range and what we were looking for. They however acted like we were crazy, and seemed to have no interest in helping us. We understand that they don’t have many boats because of the time of season and everyone buying boats getting ready for boating season. But the way they treated us and acted uninterested in helping us because we had a lower budget. Branden especially said that we would never find a boat like we wanted with in our budget and if you ask me, and my family members who work in sales, you never talk to a customer like that. I posted this exact review and they called us and said we found a boat for you we can email you pictures of it on Wednesday and asked us to take the review down. So we did. Come Wednesday “the trade didn’t come through.” So was there really a trade of not? The only person that wasn’t rude was the lady at the front desk. Horrible customer service. Please do not contact us to remove this low score. We also did find a beautiful boat lower than our price range.

Back in May 2020, I went to Skipperbud's in hopes of purchasing a boat. Despite reading a few negative reviews and hearing about some previous poor experiences, I did decide to give them a chance.nnAs a person with little background knowledge about boats, I would have hoped that Skipperbud's would have provided me with all of the information about our purchased boat. Throughout the summer, my boyfriend and I experienced many issues with our boat which has now left us with over $5000 in repairs. These repairs total to approximately half of the purchase price. Skipperbud's was aware of these issues, found a quick fix, and moved forward with the sale knowing that these issues would arise later on. Months later, we are now responsible for the thousands in repairs. I feel as though Skipperbud's withheld some very crucial information about the condition of our boat. They were more concerned about getting the boat out the door.nnI also experienced complications with the financing department at Skipperbud's Oshkosh. Skipperbud's inaccurately completed our finance paperwork. They claim on their website that their financial and sales departments are a group of “professional, knowledgeable staff with many years of new, used and brokerage experience”. However, it took months of back and forth emails and phone calls to finally get the financing figured out. I trusted Skipperbud's with all of my personal information. It should be their duty to have an experienced financial department who can accurately complete paperwork.nnSince the time I purchased our boat, there have been so many red flags. At first, the staff seemed very knowledgeable and cooperative. However, when presented with all of the information I just shared, they definitely showed their true colors. They are “not at fault” for what happened to our boat and will not be helping with the repairs.nnThank you for taking the time to read this review!

We purchased a pontoon boat from SkipperBud's in Pewaukee, but picked it up at the facility in Oshkosh. The entire process and all the people involved at both locations were outstanding! Everyone from the front desk to the sales office, to the service shop were all polite and courteous, taking time to explain everything and make sure I was satisfied...which I was.nnMy wife and I (and kids) were able to enjoy it at our lake cabin all week and we had a great time and boat operated perfectly.nnOverall, I was very pleased and would not hesitate to work with them again in the future. Coming into SkipperBuds we didn't realize that boat sales were extremely high. The amount of used boats in their inventory was very low. Branden was helpful in getting us in the right direction for our first boat. The lady behind the desk was also a delight to talk with. The two of them made our experience enjoyable. My 16 year old daughter says to tell the lady thank you for her treat and for talking to her.
