The November Room

My wife enjoys coming here when we camp at a nearby campground. The owners make natural soap and other items that my wife uses and really likes. The store has lots of artsy stuff. Owners are very friendly as well.

Friendly atmosphere in an older building. The craft vendors offer a quality product at a reasonable price

I live in Winston Salem and every time I come to Elkin I make sure to visit The November Room. Laura does a wonderful job of making her store feel warm and inviting. Everything is displayed nicely. I love all of the local vendors and the items they sell. It's the perfect place to find unique items.

During a Pandemic, they have re-opened their business without requiring masks as State mandated. They offer multiple arts and craft classes where everyone is sitting at tables close to each other and they do not wear masks, thereby possibly being a part of community spread. When I simply asked whether they participate in mask wearing, Laura, the manager, responded to me in anger and belligerence instead of speaking to me in a professional tone. As a business who wants their business to thrive, they do not seem concerned about their customers’ safety. She also retaliated against me within the community. I have been nothing but a paying patron at The November Room. They are calling me the harasser when in fact they refuse to let it go that I asked one question which they consider to be political. Not a way to run a small community business. Furthermore, on the same public forum where I asked my ONE question, another person who had visited Elkin from out of town months before, asked the same question. Laura’s response to that out of town visitor was, “Mind your own business.”nnAddendum: Me? Harass your vendors??? Your vendor, Robert Luffman harrassed me and threatened my life on his Facebook page just because I didn’t allow him - per group rules - to advertise his food drive in my photographers’ group. And is still doing it. What kind of people do you employ anyway?

Laura is great to deal with. She has an eclectic mix of vendor's and items for all tastes.
