Fort Hamby is the place to be! I like to play disc golf here and ride my bike. Sunday morning is my favorite time! Super quiet!

The only negative is trails were a little brushy but honestly, this area been bombarded by bad weather after bad weather so it's understandable. Still easily navigable while wearing a 6 month old and carrying a 2 year old.nnThe beach was clean, big enough to accommodate everyone there and shallow enough entry that we were able to accommodate 4 kids 2 and under.nnEasy access (a few minutes off of 421), plenty of parking. Of course, I went during the week so on the weekend that may be different.nnGreat place to spend the day or the weekend.

Overall a good value for the money. Pluses: RV spots are secluded, lots of shade, very peaceful, a true getaway at a reasonable price. Minuses: Have to drive to the boat launch for lake access, swimming beach is the Redneck Riviera, not a pleasant experience on the weekends.

Really nice campground, some sites have more privacy than others. Hilly terrain, kids had fun at the nice small sandy beach on the lake. Really humid the last week of July

We went swimming and it was a wonderful experience and the shower rooms had been remodeled recently. They where in excellent condition and had hot and cold water.
