Find a different accounting firm in the Fox Cities!nI contacted my insurance agent with questions I had about starting a new business. At no point in the discussion, did she mention how much she would be billing me. After the conversation, this agent notified me via a phone message that there would be a 20 dollar charge for a permit. Again, there was no written or verbal communication about more charges. I received a bill for $330 dollars. $120 for the 20 minute conversation and $220 for the permit. This permit was something I did not ask her to complete, and any person with knowledge could have done itoit in 5 to 10 minutes. The secretary tried to explain that the billing was like a lawyers office... however, a lawyer has a written contract signed and verbal communication, and retainer prior to processed work.nnI spoke with the agent over the phone and communicated all of my concerns. Let me be clear, her time is valuable and deserving of pay. However, I never received any confirmation of the billing rates during the entire process. I offered to pay a portion of the total charge. She followed with advising me to cease our relationship as a client and accountant. What kind of response is that? You make a clear mistake, take no responsibility, and then tell the customer to go somewhere else?nnIn addition, we submitted our taxes in February and received them months later.nWhy file early if you receive them late?Covid was their response. Again, no accountability. Maybe other agents at Kerber Rose are better, but with plenty of other options out there I wouldn't take the risk with a firm that lacks professionalism, communication skills, and most importantly customer service.
