Sweet Peas Cafe

Heard about this place yesterday, thought I'd take a look at the menu...O-M-G!!!! Sounds & looks like my kind of food & people! Great veggies, addition of balsamic vinegar. Nice looking sammys, cheese added but not covering food! There's lots of carnivorous offers too. Mmmmmm... Can't wait to try it this weekend when we can sit & savour! We'll start with 2 cups of coffee...1 with cream only & other with cream & honey/sugar...please.

My fiance and I came here on a beautiful Saturday morning looking for a new Breakfast date place.... they beat our old one by a landslide this morning! Food is so homey, fresh, warm, and delicious! The prices are shocking by how inexpensive it is. I'd consider it a blessing to New Bern and a hidden gem. Looove it... and so does our dog!

All employees were wearing masks, mostly around their chins. Not sure why you would strap one on your face to have it pulled down the whole time. Ate the vegetarian sandwich. Bread was good, roasted veggies were well roasted and plentiful. Balsamic glaze was heavy handed and ended up making the sandwich soggy and a mess to eat. I’ll try them again but their faux-Covid protocols are dumb.

We were heading back home and on a quick search came across this little spot! Staff was incredibly kind, and the sandwiches were sublime. Had the BLT -- that roasted tomato on it is fantastic. Highly recommend the spot for a bite, this would make a great spot for Sunday brunch.

Only ONE out of THREE employees was wearing a mask and seemed to be doing any actual work or paying attention to customers that weren't their friends. The owner ignored me for a good few minutes when I was trying to check out and then lied to me at the desk. I tipped 5.00 and I hope the majority goes to the ONE person working here that cares enough to wear a mask and it's not the owner with the Karen blowout haircut, or the woman scratching herself while working with and handling food!
