Cataloochee Campground

Standard campground in the Smokey Mountain National Forest right beside a creek. Some campsites are near the water. Ours was on the middle. We still got to fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of nature and the babble of the creek.nnBathrooms are kept clean. There is a sink with water good enough for drinking, but we brought our own drinking water. No shower. $25/night check in at 1PM checkout at 12PM.nnThere are some nice hiking trails and meadows to watch elk graze along with some historic buildings than you can explore near the campsite.

In North Carolina you'll find many an amazing view or an amazing place to bond with your fam and buds. What special about Catalooche Campgrounds is the moments you create, and with its wonderful Hollywood-like woods setting, friendly and hospital neighbors, and true mountain essence, it isn't so hard to do.

Camped here as a child. Beautiful place with tons of great memories. The Elk are a bonus.

It's been over 13 years and it was a shame it took me so long to go back. Great facility quiet camp ground.
