It would be nice if there was information on the mounds posted there. Also very strange to have a story walk going though people's remains.

A great little park with history (more information about the mounds would be nice) and some very nice views of the water, but the real treat is the storybook spread out over several stops. What a fantastically unique idea! I haven't seen any other park do this, and I've been to a LOT. Sixteen podiums spread around the trail, each has two pages from a children's book. I just think it's really neat.nnThere is poison ivy in the area, so watch out for that. There is a shelter here with picnic tables, and nearby access to the water. It's a small area, but its beauty and uniqueness are worth checking out!nnOne Pokestop and gym at the entrance.

Relaxing, peaceful. Plenty of nature

Great place to see what our ancestors were up to.nThe mounds here in Hancock have never been examined properly archaeologically or scientifically. We don't know whether they're burial mounds or effigy mounds, or something else. But the good thing is that they're preserved. Many other mounds in Wisconsin are either destroyed or under threat, so it's nice that these are intact. They may have been eroded over the 1,000 or so years that they've been there (estimated date is 650 to 1200 AD), but they're still pretty impressive. They are a testament to the ingenuity and industry of the native American mound builders. The mounds are on higher ground, by a lake, and accessible from Whistler Mound Park.

Picked up plastic from the lake. Beautiful experience with nature.
