This is long overdue, as I had hoped the situation would improve since opening last year. I dined there twice this week. It's wonderful having the cafe and adjacent gift shop in Shelby, but it would be more wonderful if the owner would take time to train the wait staff (they're all very kind and friendly, but woefully untrained). Drinks and utensils often arrive after the food. They're often out of basic condiments. They need to purchase a few hot pots for hot tea so that styrofoam cups of boiling water are not delivered to the table (or remove hot tea from the menu). The coffee is often just warm. The chicken and dumpling soup could use some chicken or at least training on how to ladle some out. The food is usually quite good, but the menu is long overdue for some new items. It is a beautiful place and does not lack charm and decorating effort, but that falls short when the service (and sometimes food) is lacking.
This is a fantastic small hometown place. All of the food was delicious and the staff was super helpful and courteous. I had a philly burger. It was great exactly what I was expecting. The Cowboy burger was also good. The cheese curds coming in the cute little fry basket. Also as for the atmosphere they had really great music playing and the outside seating was full but looked like fun!
Services always good. And their food everything I've ever gotten is delicious.p
This is our favorite place for lunch! It’s wonderful we take our Golden Doodle, DaisyMae and sit outside.
Cute corner restaurant..I would come again.
