We really enjoyed our visit to the Biltmore winery and the fact that you can purchase some of their wine, sit around and drink it in a very relaxed atmosphere. Wish they had more seating as we stood around for quite a while, waiting for a spot to open up so we could sit and enjoy our bottle of wine and cheese platter. On the other hand, the wine tasting was a great experience. We had the best bartender - Geoffrey! He was so much fun and made excellent recommendations. He was definitely the highlight of our visit to the winery.
Would give five stars but everything there is nearly closed. What few staff that are still working do work hard but they are definitely short staffed throughout the whole facility. The Inn to everywhere else on the vast property seems to be understaffed. So sad for a once very wonderful experience but do to them being short staffed, they put all the guests packed into small areas to accommodate the staff and not the guests. They preach social distancing but cram all the tables together while having only 50% capacity within all venues instead of utilizing all available space.
Beautiful property, professional service! I did a wine tasting. The wines ate tasty and inexpensive.
A free tasting is part of your ticket, you can choose 5 wines, I went with all reds. My wine tender was friendly, informative and professional. She gave me a little more information than I needed, was generous with the pours for free samples and kept me moving through the wines. I made a reservation, waiting in line took about 30 minutes and the tasting took about 30 minutes. The wines weren't for me and given the wait after having a reservation time was kinda annoying. I was hoping to bring home a bottle but passed after tasting the wine.
Don't forget your free wine tasting with your Biltmore admission!!! (You have to reserve it once you arrive) Our bartender (John, I believe) was incredibly friendly and personable, not mention answered all of our questions about different types of wines. He even helped pick out our list of tastings he thought we each enjoy based on what we told him we each liked!
