My husband and I used Carole Spainhour to prepare our will and other documents. We had had our will done several years before and were not pleased with the result because the attorney kept saying they could do whatever we wanted even though we kept trying to communicate we weren’t sure how we wanted to handle our situation. Carole took the time to listen to our concerns and offer legal solutions to accomplish what we wanted. The result is that we are now happy with our decisions. She listens and offers alternatives. My husband and I recently had our wills updated. Carole did a great job explaining what was needed for each of us and how the process works. We had a couple of questions after visiting with Carole and Beth, Carole's paralegal, did a great job answering those questions too. When we received our wills, our packets contained a list of things we needed to do to complete the process and optional materials to make it easy to find information when its needed. It was a pleasure working with Carole and Beth and if we ever need to update again we will surely use her.

My husband (an attorney) and I consulted with Carol about updating our wills and trusts. The specifics were as simple as you can imagine - when 1 spouse dies, all goes to the surviving spouse. When second spouse dies, all goes to the two children, to be divided equally.nCarol spoke to us for 1.5 hours, and told us her fee to update our wills and trusts would be $6,000. I was quite shocked and asked her about the fee. She said this is in the ball park of what local attorneys charge.nWe declined to use her and went to an attorney in a very large, well-respected firm in town.nSame scenario - but his fee for the same service would be $2,000 - $3,000. I would not recommend her. Buyer beware.
