So... the staff and gas are fine here. If you're buying food, you're probably ok if you stick with nuclear apocalypse type rations, like Diet Coke, but otherwise steer clear of everything else edible. I bought a small haul of food because nothing else was open on Thanksgiving. I tried Chips Ahoy, which were somehow completely stale and had to throw those away. I heated up a hot pocket, just to turn it over and realize it has MOLD on it.nnIf you just need gas or cigs, this place is fine. But AVOID ALL THE FOOD! Unless you're into staleness and mold. I don't think they store perishables properly.

This gas station has the best customer service in Asheville. I often buy lottery tickets from here, and the clerk is always polite and helpful. Despite customers often being rude, John always greets the next person in line in a friendly manner, and seems to really connect with several customers. I don’t interact with the girl who works here a lot, she usually is smoking outside or is in the back.nnI would definitely recommend shopping here, especially later in the day when the clerks are more friendly and not as distracted.

My wife and I tried to inflate the tires of our car, using the air pump on their property. The pump swallowed our coins (6 quarters) without turning on. I complained to the cashier asking for my money back. She rudely answered that she had no responsibility for the pump or the air pump company--even though it's on Shell property and Shell presumably has a contract with the air pump company and could in turn get reimbursed from them. When I protested she told us rudely to get out of the store or she'd call the police. So we left, very disappointed and will not use this station again..
