Asheville Bear Creek RV Park

This Campsite is on a hill side and the sites are very close together. Our awning came close to hitting the next door camper. The facilities were good (3 out of 5 stars). Our view was pretty good! Very good location to visit the Biltmore.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I don’t have enough bad things to say about this place. We arrived to find it literally on the side of a busy street and road. No one was in the office and found our site with the map, there was a car parked in our spot. Called the office- no answer. Left a voicemail- it’s the next afternoon, have not received a call back. The kids and I waited in the car over 45 minutes after an exhausting day of traveling while my husband went door to door to find the owner of the vehicle. An onsite resident appeared and moved his car out asking if we selected that site and that no one ever uses it so that’s why he had parked there. He said there’s no way we will get our rig in the spot, which took a lot of maneuvering due to all the cars parked around, but we finally did. This was now around 7pm. Hooked up and had dinner, got into bed around 10pm and the power goes out. Husband went outside in the cold and tried the box, no power. So now we were without power for the night without being prepped for it. Called the office and left another message, still no call back. Waited till the office opened in the morning to talk to someone. My husband got the window slammed on him by the owner, I proceeded to try talking to the lady, same. She literally has zero concern for the guests and suggested that we could’ve re hitched and moved spots at 11pm to another open spot(which we didn’t know there were since we got the crappiest spot to begin with). It appeared that the office was aware of the electrical issues because she didn’t seem so concerned or cared to check it. The daughter chimed in that they don’t do anything for the customers do issues like that. Not sure how this is a good Sam recommended campground. Save yourselves the headache and stay somewhere else!!

We were originally going to stay at another RV park, but it did not offer the amenities we needed: so, we came to Bear Creek, and are very happy we did. The Wi-Fi is surprisingly strong (we were even able to stream!), the bathrooms and laundry rooms are clean, the showers stayed hot, and the office was EXTREMELY accommodating in allowing us to register on-arrival after hours.nnWe stayed in back-in spot 8, just uphill from the front office, and found that we had more than enough room to spread out our awning and pop out our tabletop stove. We are staying in a 15' Volkswagen camper, so our needs regarding space are a bit different than most, however. The rain was the only sound to be heard, as the highway was quite far away from our spot and the other campers nearby were extremely courteous and respectful of the quiet hours.nnI would definitely visit this place again.

Lots of nice trees, friendly efficient staff and very convenient to Asheville. There is some road traffic noise but it didn't bother us. Third stay here.

Being nice doesn't cost a single $. However, being rude just cost them a 4 day reservation. I called on 3/21/21 @ 5 pm and the last who answered the phone was rude. Tone of voice and the way you speak to people matters. This world can be ugly enough for people. We shouldn't make it even uglier for people. Especially those who would be your customers. Manners matter.
