New River Campground and Canoe

Great campsites, beautiful views. Great place to relax with family.nnOctober 2020 update: Camp sites are in great shape. Staff was very nice and friendly. Bathhouse could use some more attention. Some items in the camp store are crazy high and others are average.

Spent a lot on time here last summer, and plan to spend more time there this year. Great place to stay.

This place was so attractive in the pictures as well as in many you tube videos that we could not resist to spend time here. Indeed it was a lovely, clean place. My only problem was uncleaned toilets & sink area. Toilet seats were too small and dirty. I went to another camping site in Stone Mountain to getting freshud83dude0f. Water saving taps was difficult to wash face and hands.

Hello everyone!nnWe had a delightful trip up to this gorgeous campground.nnStaff was excellent, and even being late to the canoe trip was overcome by the owner giving us a quick lift down to the water access.nnSite was well maintained and bath house was nice for what it is.nnHeading back up soon, and can't wait for the next adventure!

The excellent location on the New River and a exclusive number of sites that all face the river earned the higher mark. On the downside, it is a difficult entrance for large or long rigs, the camping sites have very little gravel and can be muddy, and the main road is just above the campground. That said, it is a beautiful place.
