Nice view!
My wife and I went here for a date right before sunset. This was a great hike! It was fairly easy, except the end when it gets steep right before you summit the peak. The scenery is beautiful the whole hike and if there are not others around it is so quite and peaceful.
Others have said they would bring their kids on this hike and I agree for most of the way, but some younger kids would have difficulty with the steep part at the end.
The drive up is mostly paved, but gets rocky the last stretch. Online it says that most passenger cars can make it to the trail head, but be prepared to go at a snail's pace if you are in a passenger car or you may bottom out a few times, however it is possible. An SUV or truck would have made the drive way better.
We will do this hike again!
Gorgeous hike. It's a pretty uniform, medium effort hike until the very last 5 minutes of the climb when you get to the summit.that last bit of climb is tricky because it is a mix of shale rock and dirt which makes it very slippery. You should definitely not be wearing sandals for this.but the climb is spectacular. In fact the entire hike is quite lovely, and offers a really unique view of the upper part of the Uinta national Forest mountains.
Great place for you to come and enjoy a Nice hike with your family or by yourself. It’s an easy and not difficult trail that with caution it can b done. My wife and I really enjoy this please because of the pictures that we took with our dog. Personally I don’t think I would come here again because we already know what it looks like and we rather try something new but definitely a great experience.
It's a beautiful hike, with several trails connecting into it. If you start at some of the lower trail heads (I stopped at the one 1.5 miles before Buffalo Peak trailhead) you'll get to an overlook almost immediately, than veer left and go through some meadows before connecting to BP Trail. I went early August around 7pm and the meadows and aspens were a glowing green. It does get steep going up the last 10 minutes or so, but the average person will be just fine.
