Columbus Air Force Base

My original family lived here (on base) back in the early 1960's when my dad was stationed there (USAF - now retired). I went to some school in Columbus for part of my first grade. Distinctly remember the Cuban Missile Crisis, we were pulled out of school for a few days and I recall seeing military aircraft taking off (B-52's, if I'm not mistaken) literally around the clock. I can see via the Google Maps the housing area we lived at, just can't remember which unit exactly. Memorable times.

The base and the people are awesome.
