Optimist Park Community Center

This is a really nice park for kids and adults. Lamar county definitely got this one right.

They have roof tops over their bleachers & this is very much needed at baseball parks.

Nice quiet little place.

My kids love it

Always clean and has new and fun equipment, even I small section for infants with smaller slides and such. Has a 1/3 mile walking trail (so if you walk around it 3 times that's 1 mile) that's well made with benches and hopscotch painted along it (that's a fun idea!) that's also great for children's bikes or scooters. Along that path is a nice bridge with seating. There's a decent size patch of grass to run around on. There are bathrooms, a soda machine, picnic benches, lights for when it's dark, 2 stair stepper exercise machines, and plenty of benches. It does get pretty crowded on weekends and nice days, as it is a very nice park and located next to the baseball fields. But overall, very well kept.
