Good facility. Clean, well staffed, equipment kept up. Never have to wait for machines.

The facility is very nice and well kept, but it’s a 30 minutes drive for me to get there and i was unaware of the blue jean rule and got there at 9 PM on 2/15, and after i had been working out for 10 minutes i was told i had to leave by a young man because of my boyfriends jeans, even after explaining we were unaware of this rule and wasn’t going to be doing any workouts where we would be sitting on the machine equipment at all, we were just doing dumbbell workouts and part of the cable machine where we would only be standing up.

Only full service gym around. Pool, weights, classes, racquetball, sauna, etc.

Philadelphia Athletic Club has by far the most unprofessional and disrespectful staff of any facility that I have ever been to. We went in to the facility and spoke with a young man that had no knowledge of the packages that were offered. I advised him that I wanted to pay monthly for myself and my two brothers. The boy said that the price would be cheaper if I put my acct on auto payment. I specified several time that I wanted it on a month by month basis and the boy stated that it was. Two months later I came back in stated that I wanted to cancel and a girl stated that it was fine and gave me paperwork to sign. I signed it on 7/13 and was told that no more money would be withdrawn from my acct. this month nearly $70 was withdrawn again. I called in asking what was going on. A female stated I was on a 6 month contract. I advised that i was never supposed to be on a contract and had made it very clear to the first gentleman that this was not what I wanted. She stated that she did have the paperwork in front of her that stated I had cancelled my membership but that I shouldn’t have been told that it was cancelled bc it is a 6 month contact. Then my brother went in and asked the manager about the situation and she was extremely rude and condescending. Stating that we should have read everything. He advised her that the boy had misrepresented the membership and she stated that he’s wasn’t even with the company anymore. She also stated that if we didn’t pay the they would sue us. I have never been involved in a situation like this. I mean the fact that they know the membership was misrepresented to us then we were told it was cancelled when it really wasn’t is just ridiculous and so unprofessional. If you have started doing business here I would advise that you don’t it’s not worth it.
