Very neat place with many raptors to enjoy! It is a free experience, but they do ask for a donation for each car when you pull in, which is perfectly acceptable. The trail to walk and see the birds is wide to provide plenty of space. Almost every habitat has both an information card about the species as well as history and detail about the individual birds and how they got there. It was a great way to spend an hour on a beautiful morning.

Amazing place to visit! They care so much for the birds and do so much for rehab and conservation. Great for an afternoon trip to walk around and learn more about birds! Bring your lunch, there's lots of places to sit and listen to the different calls of birds. They are donation based so think about stopping by and making a donation after experiencing a great sanctuary.

The World Bird Sanctuary is a definite must see while in Saint Louis. The sanctuary is located on the same grounds as Lone Elk Park, so it's a great place for a day excursion.nnI made a day of it by visiting with a knowledgeable and friendly staff and volunteers, walking and and hiking the nearby nature trails, viewing various birds, as well as browsing their gift shop.nnThe facility is extremely accessible, without having to walk too terribly much.nnWord of advice, don't forget to bring your camera!

Great place to visit if you have any interest in birds. Enclosures getting better for viewing. Nature center and gift shop. Free entry tho I strongly suggest making a donation.
