Want others to be clear as some have stated, this is Not open to the public nor can you really see the home from the road.
Haven’t been there, but I’ve “visited” virtually out of curiosity, this being the plantation where Frederick Douglass was held as a slave in his boyhood.
An amazingly well preserved family home. Beautifully landscaped outside, impecably cared for original period furnishings inside. This original plantation home has been truly loved by its owners.
It is an amazing property, however none of the other reviewers have pointed out that it is PRIVATE PROPERTY and is NEVER open to general public. I was informed of this after while trying to visit the property after having driven down from Connecticut....
