Close to DC area. Lots of sandy beaches, showers and a view of the bridge.

One of my favorite places to be in maryland! Big family friendly park/beach combo, it is so awesome that you can be having a barbecue and then walk a couple feet away and be on the beach! The park is on the bay so no big waves - perfect to stick a tube in and float. Concessions available in the summer, good amount of restrooms and there is a capacity limit so that people aren't packed in. Lots of playgrounds. Word of advice - get there before 11am in the summer as that is when capacity seems to hit (1030am to be on the safe side).
