Elk Neck State Forest

Some of the trails need maintenance. There are two fallen trees, pretty large ones, on the Mason-Dixon Trail. They pretty much block the trail. Other than the fallen trees, these trails are really great for hiking. I've seen people walk their dogs, no cyclists though. I am a hiker myself, pretty experienced too, and these are some of the prettiest trails in the area.

It's peaceful and has alot to offer without offering anything, really. There's many entry points are different sections, or areas, I guess, to the park. The part I was in was off of Irishtown road but can be accessed through Old Elk Neck road at 2 different points as well. There is a gun range, hooking trails for different level hikers, and a lighthouse trail as well. They have pull-offs on the side of the dirt road you drive on for parking or there are bigger parking areas at the entrances.

Well, it's quiet, but be careful there are people in there with bow - n -arrows! Kinda strange they let people walk in among the hunters.

It's so fun and a great experience not packed at all
