Copeland's of New Orleans

Headed back home after a week in Florida and stopped for the night in Covington. We were looking for final good seafood meal. Don's and Copeland's both sounded like good possibilities and we chose Copeland's. Lot of empty tables, people waiting and no one at the front desk. For several minutes. When someone finally did come he seemed to act like he was being inconvenienced. The table he sent us to was dirty but the man who took us gave us a booth. He was the only friendly, helpful staff member we had contact with. Our waiter was not nearly as good as he thought he was. Granted the masks are a hindrance but others seem to have adapted. The menu was pretty limited and our waiter was not helpful with questions. A lot of pasta for a seafood restaurant. My wife ordered grouper and I had the shrimp platter. The food was good. The service was not. We should have tried Don's.

I always like coming here as they have so many delicious things on their menu. I really love the Covington location as it is so much closer to home than here, but when I am on this side of the lake this is one of my first choices of places to eat at. I just love the food and service at Copeland's as it is always good. My friends all feel the same way so it is not just me.

If I could give this place 1000 stars, I would. The food was EXCELLENT. Both children (15 & 11) with us ate almost every single bite of their food! That’s saying a lot considering they are extremely picky. Our waiter (I can’t recall his name) absolutely made our experience. Funny, kind, patient, and quick! Will definitely be back next time we are down from Iowa!!

The food is good quality and the customer service was good as well. However I was expecting big bold flavors and my dish left me underwhelmed. Almost as if no seasoning was added at all. I got the 18$ eggplant dish. The breading was bland and the sauce was less flavorful than an Alfredo almost could not taste it. You can also tell parts of the dish were done before others giving the plate an uneven temperature. Some spots cold others extremely hot. Wont be spending the money on this again.

This place is so over priced for food that's clearly lacking the quality and portion size since I last visited! We were given a plate the same size a 5 year old would be given!!! With the same amount of food given to the same 5 year old!! After making due with what we were given! Our waiter left and went home without saying a word!! So it seriously took longer to leave than it did to be sat at our table, order something to drink, then to eat, get let down and not to be able to order dessert!! So no cheesecake that night!! Lol! Can't see myself going back any time soon!! There are so many other ways I can think of to waste my money and have a better time while doing it!!!
