We walked here from our hotel and it is a nice serene spot to take a breather. You can see the boats out on the water, the bridge, and the nice architecture of the aquarium. If you bring your dog, there are plenty of grassy areas, but I did not see any dog bag stations, so you may want to bring your own. The Holocaust Memorial was well done and informative. It was nice to just take a moment and be thankful. If you have mobility issues or have elderly family members, there are plenty of places to sit down and rest for a bit or people watch. As long as you stay on the concrete, it is completely mobility accessible. We had a great time and plan to go back today.

This is the spot to go to see the Mississippi River in NOLA. The breeze is constant and cool and everything you want from a riverfront. There lots of shops close by and lots of places to get a drink or something to eat and sit at the waterfront. I personally really enjoy getting breakfast and going to sit on one of the many benches around there to enjoy the scenery. It's fun to watch the various boats going up and down and across the river. If you're interested you can always take the paddle boat up the river a bit (I haven't yet done that). The park in front of the water has lots of statues with plaques about NOLA and notable people and there are trees and benches to enjoy the water and shade.

A hidden gem along the waterfront. When I finally figured out how to get to this park (I used the Rusty Rainbow Bridge), this was a great place for my morning walks. It's about a mile total in length, so great for pacing yourself. There are also entrances at either end, with a parking lot at the east end and the bridge. The west end had on street parking (I think), and you have to take an elevator or stairs to the walkway over the train tracks.
