I'm in love with the pork hi ho fries with peppers. I hardly even get the sandwich anymore but love them too. I started out getting the nuggets for my kids but they always missing a few cause they are so goodnEverything is cooked fresh.

My family has loved Hi Ho since the 1950's. The sandwiches were 5 for a dollar then. I also remember Felder's in Baton Rouge. Hi Ho is still my favorite sandwich in the world.

I made the stop because I knew others that spoke highly of it. Customer service was good. The BBQ meat was tender (not full of fat). Ordered several sandwiches (both beef and porK). Somewhat subjectively and as individuals vary the sauce was different that I have had at other places across the country - not bad just not my preference. My only disappointment was they did not have potato salad but the onion rings were a big hit. Definitely worth the stop if within a reasonable distance or needing a bite and travelling I-12 (only a couple miles North). I went in, but they did have a drive though. It seemed pretty busy and that is always a good sign.

This is not a true barbecue place. This is a taco place. They specialize in tacos for breakfast lunch and dinner. You can get barbecue pork, barbecue beef, and potentially barbecue bacon. But this is not a barbecue place that serves brisket, pulled pork, barbecue chicken, ribs, or anything else that you would expect from a barbecue place. with that being said the food is decent. The service was good and the atmosphere was very surprising. It's actually two-story restaurant. If you're dining inside just be aware that seating is very limited and there is no upstairs dining at this time. They are not doing refills on drinks currently and if you need any individual condiments you will need to ask for them.
