Derrick Floor Sculpture

Pretty cool and interesting work that was very detailed. You can get up and close on the artwork to see the fine details even in the work.

Came upon this in May 2019. We were looking for a spot to take a break from the open roads, giving us & the dogs a chance to stretch our legs. Very interesting in that it gave a little local history. We found a nice park with shade that we were able enjoy. We did stop at other statues scattered around town but this by far was the biggest and best one.

The Derrick looks like the wood that would have been used back in that time period but it's really bronze. The plaques giving the history behind the sculpture were informative. And the people looked real though they were a bit larger than lifeand of course the wrong color. Humans usually are not bronze. ☺
