Avis Car Rental

Made a reservation for a military exercise 3 weeks before arriving and prepaid. Flight got delayed and made sure to update Avis that I wouldn't make it in until 10pm. No problem as their business hours are till 10:30 the customer service agent says. Show up to no one at the desk and these two signs with no vehicles available. Terrible customer service. Whoever runs this office should find another job! Here 11 days with no vehicle. Will never use Avis again!

Reserved a car for 9:45 PM for after my flight landed was scheduled to arrive from Atlanta. I provided airline and flight number information at time of reservation. My flight arrived 20 minutes early and I immediately went to the rental car counter. They had closed at 9 PM and there was no one around for assistance. I was unable to rent a car or contact anyone by phone from Avis. Then I discovered that Uber doesn't operate in Alexandria and we had to call multiple taxi companies to finally get a ride to our hotel an hour later. What kind of rental company would take reservations for after they close? Why would they close before the last flight is due to arrive?

It's currently 9:15 and the desk is closed with a sign saying to go to Budget, only for the Budget sign to tell me there's no vehicles. Then why the hell did your team take the initial reservation? It's to RESERVE a car! If you don't have any, DON'T ACCEPT RESERVATIONS!

Words cannot express how terrible this rental car company is. First they gave me a van with bad tires on it which I had no idea until I drove it 500 miles away. When trying to get a replacement vehicle it took them 3 days to get me one. Oh we have contacted avis so many times for a refund and all we get is we will have someone call you back. Now because you rented us a car that had terrible tires to begin with you charged us for the use of road side assistance. 220 dollars! You are out of your mind.
