Fun small town Middle Georgia marathon. I really enjoyed running the half marathon, there were enough turns to make it interesting. Only problem is that hotels fill up very quickly and I ended up staying in Cordele and driving in. There was a lot of resident support, they seemed to honestly appreciate us taking over their town for a morning. I will certainly run the full marathon here in the future. The organizers had enough foresight to certify an alternate course in case of flooding from the Flint River, which happened this year. Congrats to all of those who qualified Boston today!
It was great to see how many people turned out for the Snickers marathon. It was a really nice set up at the civic center for packet pick up the night before the race. The course was well laid out and it was fun that the people living in the residential area were out showing support cheering on everyone. The finish line was set up really well also. Med tent, massage tent and beer tent to take care of runners needs.
