I purchased a boat from a seller down in Florida to be delivered to me in New Jersey. Found Miller Law, PLLC to help with the transaction and it was the best decision I made. Matt is extremely knowledgeable and stayed in touch with me throughout the transaction. From tax implications of the sale to the actual closing Matt guided me through the entire process putting me at ease and making the transaction a really smooth one. Like buying a home you really should use an experienced attorney when buying a boat. He recommended several finance firms he worked with in the past as well as local people and suggested several things to me I would have never thought of. I highly recommend using his firm if buying a boat from a private seller.

Matt supported us throughout a very complicated build and handover process. The boat was built in U.K., handed over Guernsey, and ultimately shipped, USCG documented, and imported to the U.S.nnFor each of these steps (and many others) Matt provided advice and management to successfully guide the entire process to conclusion. This advice has included negotiations with the builder, oversight of the UK export process, formation of a LLC ownership company, documentation, and U.S. import and tax issues.nnRegardless of how seemingly simple or complicated the issues, I fully recommend Matt for anyone needing support in any maritime or related transactions.
