The value proposition of a running store is not having stuff on hand(Amazon has that, for cheaper, without me having to leave my house), the value prop is expertise. I went to Fit2Run to get fitted for running shoes and get running advice with my partner. We were greeted by a clerk, and asked how the clerk could be of service. I told her that my partner and I were looking to get fitted for new running shoes. They clearly had the equipment and personnel necessary to accomplish this task. Instead of doing what it took to accomplish that like maybe asking us to wait for someone qualified, she asked a few broad questions then made some high level brand recommendations for two different types of runners. I made the excuse that “we are running in those brands currently so I guess we are good”, we walked out both looked at each other and said “I guess they don’t want our money”. I’m not sure why, maybe it’s because of how we were dressed or how we looked but the service was “sub par” to say the least. I walked in planning to buy 4 pairs of shoes, 2 inserts and 6 pairs of socks at a minimum; somehow I walked out feeling like I just got judged negatively by an unqualified salesperson. The management of this establishment may want to make some changes if they don’t want easy sales to walk out.
I had such a great experience at fit2run this evening! The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I initially went in because my feet were hurting while vacationing, and wanted to look at some insoles. Not only did a get a pair of insoles but also a new pair of shoes ud83dude0d excited to be able to shop from home when i get back to Maryland!
This place is the best!!!! The staff is amazing!!! The stock is full (they had my size even though I can never find my size anywhere)!!! And finally the store looked great!!! They helped me find the perfect pair of shoes and helped me pick socks so I won’t get blisters. I would recommend this place to anyone!!! I’m bringing my mom back tomorrow!!!
Great atmosphere! Store was slow but staff was very attentive. I believe the guy who helped was rob. I love my new brooks!
Editing review:nnI am so excited to update this! The manager reached out to my partner and I to address our concerns and during the weekday was an entirely different experience! I am so glad we went back. Robb and the rest of the staff took care of us and our needs. I knew I wasn't running in the correct shoes, and what a change it has been. I wore them around yesterday and ran in the shoes he suggested today, and it will def take somenGetting used to but having the analysis done of what I need to be wearing as far as support vs what I had was a big difference that my body can feel. I feel so fortunate that we were able to go back and get sized and properly fitted because I'd never had that kind of attention and assistancennI wanted to get fitted for some running shoes while I was out at the springs and was hoping to get some proper shoes as I’ve never actually been fitted. The person that helped was somewhat friendly and mentioned hoka or brooks without addressing my question. Which is fine. I wasn’t dressed too well, but I wanted to drop $$$$ on some shoes to help me. They have a bit of sales pitch and I left unsatisfied and sad that I didn’t get any shoes. Will have to go to another store now
