I can't begin to understand any negative reviews associated with Courson and Stam. My wife and I have been using their services since 2017. We have a complicated tax situation every year with overseas work, investments, etc. The professionals at Courson and Stam go above and beyond in helping us to maximize our return and never owe the IRS. Pierre and Carrie stand out in our minds! Thank you!

On the Courson & Stam website you will read “Our firm’s reputation for providing quality service reflects the high standards we demand of ourselves.”nnIn February 2019, I hired Pierre Laporte on behalf of my son to prepare his taxes. My son provided all the required documents including his 2018 W-2 form from Lowes. Mr. Laporte completed the return for which my son paid $250.nnOn March 5 of this year, my son received a letter from the IRS stating they were proposing changes to his 2018 tax return. It seems the income my son had received from Lowes, over $20,000, had not been reported. I immediately called Mr. Laporte and his response was that somehow the W-2 form was left off the return and my son needed to pay the taxes. I asked him what about his responsibility? He replied that he would pay the $91 interest charge. I was dumbfounded! After our conversation I emailed him numerous times pointing out that he should not only pay the $91 interest charge but should also refund the $250 fee. Numerous requests by me were ignored. This oversight by Mr. Laporte has now put my son in the crosshairs of the IRS probably for the rest of his life! Mr. Laporte finally emailed me that the check was ready and I actually expected to see he had done the honorable thing and included the $250 fee. This did not happen. I just handed the check back to the receptionist and told her to give it back to him.nnKeep in mind that this is a person who is respected in the community and who has high standards of professionalism? I have been a client of his for many years as was my father. Is this how you treat loyal clients? He made an egregious mistake which could cause repercussions for my son forever with the IRS and he refuses to refund $250?? Courson & Stam? It should be Courson & Sham!!
