Beautiful walk. So many birds to see but you must come early, before 10AM to see and hear them sing. Well keep, pleasant set in an urban area makes it so special. Right there off of Sample in the middle of all the craziness there's this beautiful little gem of native Florida!
This is a natural area of decent size and plenty of tall trees and greenery. The time I went was a little late for photography but I decided to give it a shot anyway. Pun intended.nnI saw plenty of dragonflies, butterflies and anoles but in different colors than in used to. I heard a woodpecker in the distance, tiny warblers on high branches and possibly an osprey in the sky. But there was one thing that was pretty exciting. I saw a juvenile red-breasted grosbeak while looking for the woodpecker.nnI'd never seen one before and has to look it up.nnThey are migratory birds. This goes to show you how important having natural areas are. They give birds a place to live and rest away from humnan-caused problems like cats and occasionally dogs that kill them or flying into walls and windows.nnBirds have an important role to play such as insect eaters, seed distributors and sometimes pollinators. Thats why we need to keep as many natural areas intact as we can and restore other areas for their benefit and ours.nnBeing in nature can help with anxiety and focus. We need sun. And natural areas help by generally being safe places we can enjoy.
Great .5 mile walk. Lots of over grown florida greenery. Not much in the way of wildlife. I rarely see birds or turtles. Mostly lizards and spiders.
Beautiful place, very peaceful, serene very clean.nTrail is not long it is more of a relaxing place, bring your book if you want to, anytime you want to be lost in your thoughts this is the place to be. You can stay for the day entirely, no wildlife only birds and raccoons I see. You can meet with friends, family or be on your own that is the place to meditate and it is stress free, easy to fall asleep I really love and enjoy the beauty of nature.nNo entrance fee
Beautiful and relaxing...peace and quiet right in the middle of everything. I'm thankful there are places like this around!
