When I was considering an adult daycare for my father I was fearful, nervous and anxious. I wasnt sure what to expect or what could happen leaving my father alone in the care of people I did not know for 8 hours a day. This would be a first for my family and him and I wanted to be 100% sure of my decision to place him. After discussing with the owner about his facility I felt secure enough to make the decision to place my dad. I have absolutely no regrets! The staff and the drivers are wonderful, attentive, and courteous. The staff keeps my father engaged throughout the day and I have noticed major changes in my father’s attitude and spirit. Sanders is an awesome driver. I know I can trust him with my father, my son looks forward to seeing Sanders every morning to pick up his grandpa. The owner Javonne always keeps me in the loop and is readily available and willing to answer any of my questions. From the very beginning, Javonne did not make me feel pressured when I told him I was undecided between his facility The Senior Social Club and another facility. He actually gave great reviews of the other facility and owner! I thought that spoke volumes about his character. This is probably one of the best decisions I have made for my father! He is happier, healthier and livelier since being at The Senior Social Club. I would highly recommend The Senior Social Club to every family looking for a safe place for their loved ones where the owner and staff are amazing!

My mother is 83 years old, all her life lived in South America, due to life circumstances we have to take care of her several months of year; it was getting complicated for me due to my children and full time job, she wanted to leave the following week she arrive in town, I was desperate. Having found The Senior Social Club thru a recommendation has been a great blessing; my mother (a dementia patient) wakes up HAPPY every morning at 6 a.m. to get ready and be early at the center; she does not like to walk nor drink water, they help us with water and the dancing classes (Zumba) and other activities make her active. We HIGHLY recommend this place: is safe, clean and fun. Javonne and the rest of the staff are amazing!

The SSC’s mission is to provide care, compassion and a community to their senior club members. While each member of the staff that we interacted with was nice, we had a (repeated) less than acceptable issue relating to my Mother's care. One of my biggest concerns for her was toileting and ensuring that she received timely incontinence care. While she was not incontinent per se, she did need assistance and would tell you when she needed to go to the restroom. On multiple occasions, upon picking her up at the end of the day, it was immediately evident that her disposable undergarment was soiled and that she needed to be changed. On each occasion, we had to return her to the center (which was cumbersome because her mobility was severely diminished), alert the nurses/owner of the situation and ask that they clean her and change her undergarment. We could not understand why we could detect an odor but apparently not the staff. Management addressed this situation, but it happened more than once. Had this not been the case, Mom probably would have attended the center daily.nnIf you read their mission statement, the second value SSC prides itself on it compassion. My Mom passed in June. My family and I received condolences via phone/sympathy cards from practically every practitioner who cared for Mom, including physician’s offices, therapists, nurses, even the care center she attended more than a year before her death (in Hallandale - Memorial Adult Day Care). I think all we received from SSC was a text message. We also held a gathering to celebrate her life and to thank the people that were involved in her support (Physicians, nurses, therapists, the care centers she attended, etc.). Though SSC was invited, they didn’t respond nor attend the event to our dismay. However, the Director the Memorial Adult Day Care center attended – her presence spoke volumes to us. Mom would’ve been thrilled to know she was there.nnFinally, after Mom’s death, we donated two walkers (one with the tags still on it), several memory games, disposable undergarments and personal hygiene products to SSC. Just like with her death, no acknowledgement.nnThis is my/our experience and our perceptions are real. We were very disappointed because when you entrust your loved one to a care center, we feel that the care and compassion given to your loved one should also extend to the caregiver/family. You should feel that you and your loved one are valued. And that’s not the feeling we were left with. When you know better you do better and perhaps this review will help ensure the next client/family will not experience the same disappointments we did.
