This a family owned business. Delicious Food and the whole family is great. Cheaper than going to some of the local fast food restaurants in the area for a good home cooked meal. We go once a week for carry out due to covid. And always get a large home made soup with our meals, whether they come with them. Or we order them as a extra.
The environment is clean and pleasant, staff is super nice, food is standard fair but prices are a touch higher than typical of the area for comparable meals. On the flip side, the building, decor and landscaping are a step above typical.nnIf this restaurant added a well landscaped outdoor eating area and tweeked the food with a touch more spice, it would get a jump on the competition for sure.nnAs a side note, they have sriracha ketchup. So my roommates and I went to this place last time, very friendly people, extremely good food and good service, went back to this place again and was not disappointed, we will be returning to West Wind Diner again in the future. Plus the price can be a bit touchy but it is definitely worth it. We are from Mchenry County Illinois and willing to travel to this place. I even tried the steak this time and I dont know how the cook does it but he did a marvelous job, so excellent job to the chef.
Had the West Wind Skillet: hash browns with sausage, bell pepper, and onions mixed in. Cheese on top and two eggs prepared however you like them. Delicious. Big parking lot. Open from 6am to 9pm.
We love this place. The food was excellent and follow the safety guidelines. The staff was extremely pleasant. I will definitely be back many more times!!
