Capstone Classical Academy

I agree with the comments and concerns about communication between the administration and parents. We have observed this lack of communication for a whole year. The effect of this has fostered a lack of trust towards the administration and also communicates that the parents are not all that valued - except when the school wants money from them. The school pushes for parents to donate often and they push lots of fundraisers, however - they don't reciprocate with good communication or treat parents with respect or as if they are valued. In fact, during the late part of this year, where students are now home schooling, other schools have thanked parents for their part and all the efforts being made by parents as students are home schooling. Capstone hasn't mentioned any kind of appreciation. In addition, the two ladies who sit in the front office are very abrasive in their manner and speech. One in particular is very abrasive and lacking in grace. Little infractions - like forgetting a name badge are met with eagerness to slap you with a penalty. This is with students who are overall good students. This school also talks in lofty terms and ideals, but we have observed the reality and actions do not match these ideals or virtues even. The school is supposed to be closing, but the administration refuses to accept it. We are happy to be moving on and happy to find that we have other good school options.

Capstone Classical Academy is the best school our son has ever attended. He loves the teachers, curriculum, and fellow students. Everything has changed for the better since our son transferred to Capstone. The classical curriculum is engaging and challenging. His grades are up, there is no homework, no bullying. Communication between administration and parents is very lacking at this school. If you send emails to the administration, they are often very slow in getting back to you or they don't respond at all. This is unprofessional and frustrating. The school is quick to contact parents when they want donations or fundraising. The two ladies in the front office are consistently unpleasant to deal with. One in particular is very abrasive in her approach. This school says they promote virtues, however it is hard to see these virtues when they operate in these other ways.

This school has been amazing for my kids, it made them eager to learn and exited about life and their future, it has engaged them and their self esteem has improved tremendously! They learn and discuss important subjects that will prepare them to make important decisions in their future and create civil, respectful and responsible human beings. I’m so happy that we made the decision to switch to this school!! If you are just a bit curious about it you should totally come check it out!! They are not held back to go with the class, if they are good in certain class they are encouraged to advance and when they struggle with something they receive the extra help that they need until they master that particular thing, how cool is that!!!?? Nobody is left behind and they discuss the things they learn and why is important for their future. They also have fun classes like ballroom, archery, drumming circle and more!

My 14-year old LOVES this school. As a parent, I acknowledged the significance in the scholar’s love for the school... not only does he love the school, he is thriving!!!! The educators are teaching in a manner that has his Ear, he finds it attractive and he is learning! Highly recommend!
