I love historical markers. They're a great way to learn the history of an area. Many times these historical markers highlight an historical event I never knew about. Actually there are 2 markers here. One tells of the Dutch who settled the area. The other tells of a tragic and fatal multi car accident that occurred in 2004 when a cloud of fog suddenly dropped on the highway.

Nice spot to rest or picnic. No Vending.. Historical marker for Dutch settlement that perished. As well as Oct 11 2002 I-43 accident memorial that claimed 11 victims.
