Well done Ogden! Love this bike park. There are signs about the puncture vine everywhere. All you need to do is stay on the trail. I rode multiple laps all through the park and didn’t get a single goathead.
The mile-long loop through the trees is absolutely fantastic for beginners. It’s pretty flat with some fun berms, small, flat-rock bridges, and low rises to pick up a little speed to keep things interesting. With the sound of the Weber River in the background, it’s a great setting.
The skills park (where the wood features are) is really great for anyone who has a little confidence on a bike and really wants to gain more. Within 2-3 laps you’ll be working to catch air. The teeter-totter is genius.
I can’t think of a better place along the Wasatch Front to get the kids into mountain biking.
Definitely not a place for beginning writers or little kids. This place looks interesting and I'm sure it will look even better as they continue to build it out but the track as it is now is most definitely for kids ages 10 and over. The wooden platforms and elevated bridges are fairly narrow and little kids are not ready for something like this. In addition, they built this park an area that was covered in Goat Head Thorns previously so unless your kids bikes have the special tubes in them, expect to pop a couple bike tires while you are here. Our kids only lasted about 15 minutes here and after quite a few spills they decided they didn't like it anymore so we headed over to the Riverdale Bike Park which is much better suited for kids between the ages of 7 and 10.
So good!! My kids love it, I love it. Has something for most level's. Ogden is so lucky to have the people who got this park put here! Thanks for all that did this! It is right by some really good bike companies like Enve Composites. Also close by is Rooster's Restaurant, and best of all is that it is right by the Ogden river parkway. So you can ride to the park from many places ,or just drive to it as well. I have taken my family now 3 times ,and we really like it, We have felt safe in this area, and feel good about taking our children there. Keeping in mind we stayed with our kids ,and don't just drop them off! I love to ride my bike more then they do so it's a win-win for me! Thanks Ogden for cleaning up this area ,and making it RAD! What's RAD about it is that there is a pump track and also a trail in the woods. Nothing is to big so it's great for starting out. There is a wall ride on the trail that I'm pumped about, and want to go spend more time on. Watch out for the puncher weeds/ Goat heads.
