It was a little intimidating because I’ve only made keys old-school style but once I got the hang of it, it worked really well. I used the machine at Menards. It took a little bit to get my original key in the slot and then I needed to push and hold the key firmly in the slot so the machine could read it. The problem was it wanted me to do this and still select items on the screen so be prepared. The keys worked in the lock. You’re going to want to use the little scraping area to help polish up the keys and get the leftover metal shavings off of them. I really would use the machine because it was more accurate than the old-school style where there’s room for human error (the shop key I tried to have remade-twice!)
Went into Menards and was directed to the self- key kiosk and made 9 keys on the spot, paid with a credit card and a receipt was emailed to me. Very easy to use.
The key machine was very precise and the key fit perfect. Easy to use and user friendly.
I used a kiosk in a Menards and the process was effortless and the key works great. I'll be using these computer cut kiosks over my local hardware store. Half the time I would go there the keys wouldn't work.
