I rented a 10 foot truck and one dolly for 8 hours on 11/30/20 and was charged $160. The rate is $19.95 plus mileage (16 miles total usage) plus the fee for the dolly.nnThe guy at the desk smelled of weed and took 20 minutes to just rent me a truck for my reservation. He kept messing up whatever he was typing and having to re-do it. Meanwhile, the lady working next to him (who just came off 3rd shift at another job) quickly checked out 2 or 3 customers in the same amount of time.nnThe truck sounded like the muffler was dragging and the engine light was on the whole time. I told the guy in the lot before I left. He said it was fine. I called in after getting to my house and was told by the GM that it was fine. I told them again when I returned it.nnWhen I returned the truck I asked if I needed to go in to settle up. They said no that everything was good. I don't have time to mess around with an app that I would only use once so I don't know how checkout was handled if I didn't go in to the desk or use the app. I asked again and they said it was all good.nnMy card was preauthorized for $160 when I checked in for the reservation ($100 deposit plus $60 to cover actual rental). The full $160 was processed with no explanation as to why. None. They just charged me $160 to rent a 10 foot truck for 8 hours without a call, text, email or receipt to explain why.nnIt was until I noticed that the pending $160 had posted in full in my account that I realized they did this. I had to call the U-Haul 800 number and wait 20 minutes on hold to talk to someone. She informed me they did process a refund of $104.08 on 11/30 and I should see that refunded in 3-5 days.nnI rented from this location about 3-4 years ago without any issue. However, I won't be renting from them again after this experience.
We had a very horrible experience with this branch at Walker's point today. We hire their vehicle st 2 PM and return back at 3:30 PM. We just had to move some stuff in Bayview from one block to next block. We did not run their vehicle for even 5 miles and when we return back the vehicle, they charge us extra $ 60 for fuel charges after we had already paid the vehicle charges which they ask $ 19.95. This is a total rip off kind business. I suggest everyone to be very careful when you hire their UHaul vehicle or please find any other option. Thankyou!!
Be ready for a miserable experience with the worst customer service imaginable, guaranteed. If you’d like to ensure your own meltdown, this is the place for you.
I spent $304.91, booked my reservation 24 hours in advance. On the day of pick up, my laundry machine died forcing me to go to the laundry mat. Because of this, i called my pick up location, confirmed my order in its entirety then respectfully requested that my order be extended from noon until 1:00pm.nnUpon arrival I did not see my order that I placed online. Uhaul promises a no contact pick up and drop off. So I met a nice young women who processed my payment and went to get my equipment.nnShe showed me the trailer and the truck so I started assembling the two. When I was in the middle of figuring this out, a gentlemen pulled up aggressively, slammed his car in park and jumped out. I was honestly scared for my life. I was asked what I was doing. So I presented my receipt. The gentlemen then replied that he didn’t care about my receipt and to move my vehicle or the police would be called.nnI left immediately and after getting no where with UHaul customer service. I called the police and will be filing suit first thing Tomorrow.nnI didn’t know a $304.91 sale could make a moving company so angry.
