We feel we were a victim of bait and switch. Last year we had our taxes done for the first time at H&R Block, we didn't have to file and were charged $59. for your services. We were very happy. This year we returned and had to pay $298. for the exact same service. We asked why and the tax preparer said we paid the same last year. When we home I looked at last years return, and, as I had said, we paid $59. It states, on the form that the price started at $312. and due to a coupon or prior payment it was reduced to $59. We hadn't made a prior payment and had no coupon that we can recall.

Darcy is an amazing and knowledgeable tax pro. This is the second year we have done our taxes with Darcy and she took the time to explain everything and we left with no questions. She even helped prepare us for next year by letting us know what to do be ready. She even came in on her day off to finish our taxes. Make sure to ask for Darcy and you'll be very happy with the result.

Misrepresentation of pricing. I was told H&R block had transparent pricing,, this is not accurate and false advertising. I was charged $59 for the fed, $59 for the WI State which according to my math = $118 which was fine.. THEN I was charged $40 to enter $10 into form field.. This did NOT require additional forms. I was told it was just to type the numbers in.. So I was charged $20 per number to enter into a field in the 1040. I will ensure everyone on my social media accounts are aware so they are not surprised. My preparer was Dale Meyer, the attitude displayed toward me was that I needed to keep quiet and just let her make choices. I asked questions regarding medical / donations and was treated as though I had no business inquiring those types of monetary amounts. Very disappointed in my session. Last year at Jackson Hewitt they did everything they could to ensure i had the best return possible for my circumstances. The only reason my final bill was $133 was due to coupon
