Sommers Painting LLC

Arrived to job site, had other contractors working so he said he would need to come back later and do the job when they are done and out of the way (100% understandable). Did not return and did not answer our calls / voicemails.

We hired Sommers Painting LLC to paint the entire inside of a 3 bedroom house. We met with them and later received their estimate, which we considered high, but were over a barrel to get it done, so we hired them. They were to paint all ceilings and closets one coat of paint, and all walls two coats. When I saw the finished job I was quite disappointed in how it looked. Dingy. Not fresh and clean like new paint usually looks. As a lay person, I figured I must have chosen a poor color (white) and that was why it looked so blah.nnCoincidentally or not, we later discovered five gallons of wall paint in the basement - four unopened and one with barely any of it used. We hired a professional painter to paint the walls, using the paint left in the basement, and the different was remarkable. The house now looked the way it should have.nnOld paint bleeding through was clearly visible in areas, which would not have been the case had two coats been applied. Nothing was caulked. Cracks were visible. Mrs. Sommers attributed that to not being in the contract. In my experience, caulking and repair of minor cracks is part of a professional job. Our new painter told us that they didn't even remove the electrical plates when they painted. Behind the plates was a former paint color. There was a water stain on a ceiling that was still there when Sommers completed their work.nnI contacted the Sommers. They claimed to have prepped and taped the house and applied all paint (ceilings, closets, and two coats on all walls) in A DAY AND A HALF. They insisted that they did all the work contracted. They attributed having so much leftover paint to mistakenly ordering twice as much as they needed. They never asked to see the house or to do anything to make it right. My request for a partial refund was flatly refused.nnIn view of how the house looked and their lame excuse for having so much leftover paint, we found their claims to be not credible.

We had them paint almost every room in our new home. They did a great job and were able to get us in with short notice. I’d highly recommend Ron and Carina! Very quick to respond and give estimates.
