I was charged $233 for less than half an hour of watching someone else plug in the numbers off my tax forms. I also had to ask about my educator's tax break - the maximum of $200 that I can claim out of my own pocket for my classroom. I also didn't know I could claim regular tuition on my taxes. This year I went back to school and have been paying out of pocket for my classes along with my student loans from my previous degree. I knew about my tax break for paying back my loans, but wasn't aware I could also claim the $5000 in tuition I paid this year. She asked very few questions to understand anything about me and my potential claims.

We have used H and R block for years now. We dropped in to pick up a copy of our tax return from last year (8) pages. I think if you are charged over 500$ to file taxes, they should let you have a copy of your taxes...
