I moved to Madison in 2008 and looked for a good barbershop for about two years. I have been coming to the Hilldale Barber shop for 10 years now--best place in town. It's only $20, but make sure to leave a good tip. They deserve it.
I went here on a limb as I do have a usual girl in the area but I figured what the heck. I was in the area and needed a cut badly. I can only speak for Pam, who gave me the haircut today but it was a good experience! Nothing special in terms of extra services but all I needed was the basic cut anyway.nnShe was great. Very friendly without being overly chatty or giving off a fake feeling. The cut itself was fantastic as well - you could see she was very experienced. It was much better than something you'd find at most other generic walk in places.nnWould definitely recommend dropping in sometime. Not overly pricey at all. ($20 flat). For me today I walked in and experienced immediate, professional service.nnOne extra note - credit/debit not accepted but being that it's in the Hilldale Mall there's plenty of places to withdraw cash.
