LA Fitness

As one review only a few down states (as a positive nonetheless) this gym is not taking adequate measures to create a safe environment for guests. As Bianca (Operations Manger) stated, they are only interested in enforcing the rules so that they are not shut down. "Face shields" like the one below are acceptable and staff repeatedly fail to address guests who are wearing their masks below their nose and/or mouth. All that I want to see here, or anywhere else, is responsible behavior which is ironically the behavior that will allow gyms and other non-essential business to stay open.

I go to about all the LA fitness locations in town. They all have a different vibe. This is one of the better ones in Phoenix. They are going out of the way cleaning everything. They aren't being mask police at this location like some others which I like, sometimes you do have to lower you mask below your nose to catch your breath after a heavy set. Great gym and great crowd there.

So incredibly welcoming! The general manger, Chris, is so helpful! I was concern wit the COVID, but he took a time to give me a tour and explain their cleaning's policy. He made me feel so comfortable!! Thank you, I really appreciate since we have family member that is with compromise immune system!!!

Great place to hang out, my visits last a minimum of 2 hours, extremely happy to have this facility at my disposal, equipment galore , positive atmosphere and a clean and we'll maintained 3 lane 50' swimming pool

By far the worst experience I've encountered at LA fitness. Alexandra the PTD was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Most definitely not what you would expect from a major fitness corporation. I will say that 99% of my experiences at LA fitness are relatively positive. Needless to say I was shocked when this particular associate aggressively approach my husband and with attitude told him, "YOUR MASK NEEDS TO BE ON!" she then paused, bends over, raised her eyebrows, stared directly into my husband's eyes, physically gestures her mask and says, "AT ALL TIMES!". Before either me or my husband could comment on her attitude she stomps off and in the most condescendingly way says, "have a great rest of your day." At this moment my husband and I decided to follow her up to the front desk in an attempt to correct the situation. Alexandra appeared to be intentionally avoiding us by bypassing the front desk towards what I believe to be the cubicle area. I then requested to cancel my membership. Only to be told I could not. after a brief back and forth with the manager(Clinton) my husband and I decided to leave and place a formal complaint to corporate. I attempted to call the front desk in order to get the name of the associate since she was not wearing an id badge. The male associate that answered refused to provide a name or any information. I then decided to return in person to speak with Clinton. Initially Clinton attempted to defend Alexandras character. Despite her having multiple opportunities while in his presence to apologize and correct herself. Regardless, he was helpful in providing the information needed to file the complaint. I will say that my husband and I have no problem following the new regulations LA fitness has put in place for our safety. However there is a standard of customer service between associates and members that should be stressed especially given the current world circumstances. I was amused and surprised to find out she was attempting a managment position. I strongly advised LA fitness as a corporation to reconsider or refrain from putting her in any position of authority. Some advice for Alexandra, work on customer service, talk to people the way you would want them to talk with you. Delivery is truly crucial.
