There's far more history regarding the early pioneering days of the Portage area then a sign or two can explain.nI urge everyone to take the Surgeons Quarters tour as well as the Historic Indian Agency House.nNo apps or downloads...just an insight as to what life was like back then!
Nice place to get off the road and look into History!
Very interesting historical marker noting the surrender of Cheif Red Bird. I stopped to find a geocache and just as I found the cache it started a tremendous downpour. Wanted to visit the Surgeons cabins but, I will have to return at another time.
Lovely little spot to eat lunch
