Capital Credit Union

Ok credit union but not so happy right now and it been bothering me all day. I have 2 loans and I haven’t been able to pay on them since October because I unexpectedly ended up being the only income source in my household. Which when I got the loans was certain that our financial situation was under control. Things changed fast this past holiday season and was the worst ever. I spoke with Lisa, one of the loan officers and explained that I was the only income source and that I would catch up as soon as I got tax money. She said they couldn’t guarantee that I was going to get a refund so I had to at least show that I was paying. Ok I can understand that and told her that I would ask my dad for some help and she told me to keep in touch with her. So I asked my dad if he could help me out with some to show that I’m paying, which he was able on the larger loan. So come payday today around noon I checked my account and there was a hold of so much money. I called and spoke with Lisa again and it was because of my other loan, which is a smaller loan amount. She asked if I was able to pay anything, I said I guess $200 and she ask me when I’ll be able to catch up with the rest I said not till second week of February when I get some financial aid money back, because I’m back in school part-time. She says if you can pay earlier that would be good I said yes I will be catching up with my loans but right now I’m the only income in my household and it’s hard. I’m living pay check to pay check. Makes me a little upset because I work so hard to earn my money and it’s hard to catch up when you unexpectedly become the only income in the household. So when the bank is holding your money hostage it doesn’t make it any better. I asked my dad for help and he did but they still held money on my account until I called. The bank is not paying for the roof over my family’s head, my gas to and from work or putting food in my kids mouths. The money I have left over after other bills are electronically taken out is what I have till next payday. The bank shouldn’t be able to hold money on my account when they can clearly see on their end that my other loan had some kind of payment and I have called to explain my financial situation. I understand they need their money but it’s not like I haven’t made the effort. Weirds me out that they are monitoring my account that closely and holding money that’s not theirs. Nobody will ever know what’s it’s like to live pay check to pay check until it has happened to them.

Great customer service. Very helpful when setting up an online account. Appreciate all the work that they do for me.

Pleasant staff now that I'm a familiar face. They have a limit on cash withdrawals through the drive through. I understand this for safety, however without lobby hours at all locations on Saturdays, this is really inconvenient. Drive through hours are 830am-1230pm on Saturdays and only the Morris location has their lobby open.

Shout out to the loan officers and some of the new tellers making it a little more enjoyable there! But the older teller is terrifying, consistently grumpy, and sounds like a robot telling me to have a good day.
