I brought my 302 to Baril Engine in Dec. after talking to Larry and Andy about what I wanted done to it. A little over stock, small cam and pistons. They said they could easily do it for under 2800.00 and told me they would have it done in Jan. I gave them a 250.00 deposit and left feeling good.nJan came and went, Feb the same, end of March I was told the machine work was done and it just needed to be assembled.... no problem, I'm a patient guy. April comes they call and tell me it needs a timing chain cover and a damper.... no problem.nThey call me a couple days later telling me its done and I owe 3700.00 more. 3950.00 for a little over stock 302....what are these guys smoking? I asked why they didn't call and was told they didn't know how much they had into it till they sat down and added up the parts. I got my Bronco oil pan and valve covers back and had to confront Larry because he didn't want to give my down payment back but finally did. I could go after him for my block and heads but didn't want to deal with that A-hole anymore.nIf he would have admitted it was his fault, apologized and gave my money back I wouldn't have a problem but he was arrogant, acted like it was my fault and tried to keep my money.nAvoid these scammers and buy a crate motor online, they are half the price and have a much better warranty.

As a machine shop, we sub some (larger) work to Baril. Drive three hours to do it. Great service, knowledgeable, friendly staff. Did someone tell you it couldn't be fixed? Check with Baril before you pitch it!
