Dan Goben Cars

Bought my van in November of last year. In the 10 months I’ve had it, the check engine light has come on twice now. The first time was after I have the van for only 2 days! Dan Goben, do you pay people to give you good reviews? Because the person I talked to over the phone seemed to downplay the fact that it “isn’t unusual” for the check engine light to come on this often in a vehicle that’s only 4 years old. But don’t worry Dan Goben! I’ll take it somewhere to get it fixed again, but definitely NOT by the company you recommend so they can do your crooked work for you! And you’ll be getting the bill! You can send it back, but you’ll be (legally) sorry if you do! 0 out of 10 do not recommend. Not even in the most desperate situation.

I recently purchased a vehicle from Dan Goben in Green Bay. The sales staff was great! However, the vehicle I purchased came with under-rated parts. Within a few days of purchase, I noticed the car wasn't handling great at highway speeds and soon found out that the brand new tires put on by the dealer were under-rated based on the manufacturer recommendation. The vehicle also had a broken gas door and micro-cracks all over the windshield which make it difficult to see depending upon how the sun hits it. This winter, the car wouldn't start and I found out that the battery was also under-rated for the car. The battery is rated for 350 cold cranking amps and the car calls for 490 cold cranking amps.nnI spoke with the dealership a 2 days after purchase regarding the cracked windshield. They did fix 2 larger cracks in the windshield, but the micro-cracks are still there.nI did speak with the owner regarding the tires. he didn't feel that they needed to be changed, but offered for me to give him back the new tires that were on the car (valued at $500) and pay an additional $300 towards the new, correctly rated tires, which cost $600 outright. So, I would be giving him $800 for a $600 set of tires. Um..NO! I was expecting the dealer to swap them out for free as knowingly placing under-rated tires on a vehicle places him at liability if we have an accident caused by the tires (this is what all the tire shops I consulted told me - they require a waiver to be signed to put tires on that are other than what the manufacturer recommends) The dealer should have placed the correct tires on the car in the first place, and therefore should have corrected the issue for FREE.nnIn the few months I have had the vehicle, I had to fix a gas door, replace a battery, and still need to replace the tires and windshield.nnIf you are considering buying a vehicle from here - look it over with a fine tooth comb prior to purchase and make sure any issues are corrected as the service after purchase is poor.
